Asha Parekh is a top female star of the bollywood. She was born on October 2, 1942 in Bangalore, Karnataka. She is popularly known as Jubilee Girl. Her nickname is Tomboy. She holds the record of acting in the maximum number of films. Her father was Hindu and her mother was Muslim. She always excelled at classical dancing in stage shows and private functions. She had initiated her career as a child artist by the name of Baby Asha Parekh. When she did her first film, she was ten years old. Her first Gujarati film was a big hit. She also opened a production company named Akruti and made serials like Baaje Payal, Palash ke Phool, Kora Kagaz, Dal Mein Kaala. She was holding the position of 'President of the Cine Artistes' Association from 1994 to 2000. She has been the first female chairperson of the Central Board of Film Certification (Censor Board) of India. The Asha Parekh Hospital situated in Santa Cruz (Mumbai) was named after her. She never married in her life. Her residence is at Azad Road, Juhu, Mumbai-49.
